EVERY CATEGORY AT A GLANCE

The critics' top pick and the readers' favorite in every race.

First-choice percentages count each ballot’s #1 pick as one vote, divided by all ballots cast in that category. Five of seven votes is 71.4%, displayed as 71%. Leaders have the most first-choice votes; equal counts are tied. Staff and readers are counted separately, and skipped categories do not count. Places below #1 earn fixed points that are the same on every ballot, however long the list: in main categories 1st is 10 points, 2nd is 9, down to 10th at 1; in other categories 1st is 5 down to 5th at 1; reader ballots (up to six picks) score 6 down to 1. Nominees are ordered by first-choice votes, then total points, then the number of ballots they appear on. Neither measure is a probability of winning.
